HotFix for Lichdom: Battlemage 1.1 Build 2014.10.27.67779-Release_V1_1 is Now Live!
27. Okt.
We have just released a hotfix to our latest build for Lichdom: Battlemage 1.1. This 685MB patch includes the following update
Fixed a save game issue which prevented Windows users with names containing special characters from saving their game progress. Users that have already experienced this issue will now be able to resume their previous game.
Fixed crashes that could occur on a level transition when players had pending upgrades in the Smart Crafting Wizard
We’ve been listening to a ton of great feedback, and amidst our many hotfixes have been preparing a fairly substantial patch (1.1) for you guys that I’d like to take the time to outline below. We anticipate Lichdom 1.1 will release next week, though an exact date has yet to be determined. Still, we wanted to get these notes up ASAP as many of you have been asking about a bigger patch.
Smart Crafting Interface
The Smart Crafting interface is a brand new feature intended to help new players get the most out of their combat experience by streamlining the process of crafting improved spells. The Smart Crafting UI can automatically upgrade your spell components, craft new spells, and deconstruct old spells based on what you have currently equipped.
While the primary intention is to help players get a solid grasp on combat before they learn the intricacies of the crafting system (which is still available in its original form via the Custom Crafting interface), we’ve found through testing that many veteran players appreciate this streamlined approach to inventory management that gets back into the thick of combat as quickly as possible. With the Smart Crafting system engaged (and it is turned on by default for all players who receive the update), you will receive a notification in your HUD prompting you that a Spell Improvement is available.
Here’s how the feature works: When you access your Inventory, the system will prompt you to upgrade components (if any upgrades are available) and then show you which of your current spells can be improved through a simple button press. When you select the spell you wish to improve, you can preview the new spell and compare its stats before accepting or canceling the crafting action (which will subsequently deconstruct the old spell and return its best component to your inventory).
The Smart Crafting interface also provides you with simple tutorial videos that you can view to see how a given Sigil works with a particular Attunement. So if you’re curious about how the Control attunement of Delirium works, you can watch a quick video to find out.
You are free to toggle back and forth between the Smart Crafting interface and the Custom Crafting interface.
Level Design Changes: Act 1
Based on feedback from the community and reviewers, we have begun the process of addressing issues with pacing and the composition of enemy encounters. There are now fewer encounters between checkpoints and these encounters are weighted more heavily towards ranged combatants vs. melee. We’ve discovered that when confronted with too many melee enemies, many players have an instinct to back-pedal, which is counter to our “go toe-to-toe” philosophy of being a Badass Mage. With these changes we expect players will be able to move through Old Drivasser, Grey Teeth, and Maelstrom more quickly and with a greater sense of badassness.
Mastery Tutorial Boss
We’ve added a new Pitlurker boss in Old Drivasser to teach the player how to use mastery. Mastery is a critical aspect of generating the biggest damage numbers and playing the game efficiently, but we found that many players never get a clear sense of how it works or how to effectively use it. The Pitlurker cannot be killed without effective Mastery use, which will arm players with the skillset they need to confront Rogiro and the Undead Hulk at the end of the level.
