GRID RUNNER (Virgin Interactive Entertainment)
THE GAME
- Grid Runner is a new action arcade game being released for the Sega Saturn,
PSX, and PC CD-Rom (this). Only the music has been RiPped -- everything
else remains.
- Players assume the role of Axel, a space fighter who has found himself in
the hands of a big titted, evil cyberwitch, Vorga. In order to escape,
Axel must run or die in Vorga's wicked interplantary mazes set on 16
different planets. Decked out with fog, bubbles and ice, each planet is
subdivided into 3 progressively difficult levels for a total of 48 levels.
Each level is rendered in 3D and texture mapped.
- The game has simple keys and play and is a jolly good time for all. Try
the multiplayer mode and kick a friend's ass. It really is a fun game to
play if you like fast paced, somewhat strategic action game.
- Directions can be found during the beginner levels where instructions and
hints are presented for new players. Have fun!
- For a good time unzip into \GRID on any drive and run setup.exe from there
RiP INFO
- Only the audio music has been ripped!
- When installing with the SETUP command under Win95 the first time, I got an
error (could not find MUSIC on the CD-Rom). I kept going with it and the
game installed (did the Custom Full Install with everything checked ON).
Upon playing it everything was fine -- the sound and video both. I played
the first couple of levels to check it and thing seemed fine.
- This game will attempt to install DirectX v3.0 on your system. I had that
previously installed. As I said, with the exception of the installation
error message everything seems ok. The game, though a preshrink, runs
quite well. Hopefully no sudden copy protection will pop up later in the
game.
