PLOT
Willie MacLean comes from a long line of coal miners, so its expected that
he will follow in the family tradition. But Willie would rather be anywhere
else than a coalmine; he loves school and has a real affection for horses.
When an accident fells Willie's lather and brother, he must take a lob at the
mine or the family will face eviction. Willie is given one of the loneliest jobs in the place.
However he soon discovers that a pony he befriended could work with him in the mine.
Against this backdrop Willie and Gem the Pony prove that perseverance pays off,
that heroism comes in different forms and that miracles can happen,
even in the dark depths of a coalmine.
