PLOT
Set in Rome, expatriate journalist Terry Bartell
is a man with a small problem - he has plenty of
girlfriends, but none of them are his "Miss Right".
Determined to find true love, he dumps all of his
girlfriends and goes on a quest to find his "Miss
Right". Terry meets up with Juliet (Margot Kidder),
but is she really the "right" one?
RIP NOTES
With an original title of "La Donna Giusta" this is
technically an Italian film, even though it was
directed by an American, stars mostly Americans and is
predominantly English in speech. Set in Rome with only
a few pieces of Italian dialog (with English
hard-subs), director Paul Williams was presumably
taking advantage of lower production costs or perhaps
just throwing a vacation in with his filmmaking.
And while we're excited to finally be releasing x264
rips, this particular DVD source doesn't make for a
great example of its strengths as it is absurdly noisy.
Noisier than what you can achieve with different
hardware and analog sources like LD and VHS. Its
ultimately still better in x264 but the point is this
rip isn't pretty, a heavy dose of MCTD only made it
angry! The distributor, Legacy Entertainment Inc, isn't
around anymore, we can only assume that's a good thing.
As for the film's overall appeal, one review
mentioned the movie as having "quite a few
shortcomings" but not being a "total write-off". We
fear that may have been overly nice.
So there you have it, the rip is probably as good as
the movie. You've been warned.
Enjoy!
WHO WE ARE
Since 2003, FLAiR has been dedicated to preserving
the neglected titles of an entertainment era long gone.
A time of classic kids flicks, painstaking hand-drawn
animation and countless cheesy low-budget horrors. A
time when pop had a King, and rock had a Queen. A time
when special FX wizards ruled, and CGI was just one of
their many tools.
Driven by nostalgia and memories of better days, we
seek to relive those times, and share those memories.
While our belief is that the 80s represent the very
pinnacle of pop culture, we will not limit ourselves
to one decade, or any single genre. We will not ignore
the movies considered insignificant or even embarrassing
by the studios. We will not disregard a timepiece just
because it is dated.
Whereas most groups rely solely on digital sources,
there are still thousands of rare and out of print
titles, many of which have no planned digital release.
We've made it our mission to dig these out, clean them
up using the best hardware and techniques available to
us, and share them with the world. Be it VHS, Laserdisc
or more exotic formats, we're here to bring you the best
(and worst!) of decades past. So sit back and enjoy as
we uncover and pay tribute to an age of cinema we will
never get back.
THANKS
To everyone that has supported us over the years and
managed to keep this fun!
