P L O T

A down-on-his-luck farmer makes a deal with the devil
for seven years of prosperity. When Mr. Scratch comes
to collect, orator and hero of the common man Daniel
Webster comes to the rescue. Based on the short story
by Stephen Vincent Benet. Also known as "All That
Money Can Buy."

Shortly after filming had begun, Thomas Mitchell
broke his leg and was replaced by Edward Arnold. Not many
scenes had been shot, none were reshot, so Mitchell is
still visible in some scenes.

There are various missing frames throughout the video,
perhaps a result of restoration and not a product of the
ivtc process (check frames 40052 - 40053, for example).
