Plot

Nach einem schweren Autounfall, bei dem ihr Verlobter ums Leben gekommen ist, ist Jessabelle von der Huefte abw rts gelaehmt und fortan auf einen Rollstuhl angewiesen. Um sich zu erholen, kehrt sie in ihre Heimat Louisiana in das Haus ihres Vaters zurueck. Doch nach und nach bekommt Jessabelle, die noch immer stark traumatisiert ist, den Eindruck, dass in dem alten Haus etwas nicht stimmt. Der ortsansaessige Preston spendet der verstoerten Frau daraufhin Trost. Eines Tages findet Jessabelle eine alte Videokassette, die ihre vor Jahren verstorbene Mutter einst f r sie aufgenommen hatte. Darauf ist eine verstoerende Botschaft aufgezeichnet: Ihre Mutter hatte ihr die Karten gelegt und eine Zukunft voller Schrecken vorausgesagt. Mit der sich zunehmend in dem alten Familienhaus manifestierenden Praesenz scheint dieses duestere Schicksal nun Wirklichkeit zu werden.
