~Release Notes~
This crack was possible thanks to
the supporter "Bob".
And this is a special message he
wanted to say in public:
"This message is for Frontier, and
Rebellion. This is coming from
someone who is an avid fan of your
work, your titles, and games-please
reconsider how you approach your
implementation of Denuvo.
I completely understand your desire
to protect the games you make, I even
accept denuvo as a price to pay for
the first year or so of sale (or
longer if new content gets released).
But please understand that just
keeping denuvo in your titles for
games that have ceased releasing
additional content (like SE4, Planet
Coaster,etc) crosses from protecting
your intial investment into having
spite for the consuer. As we have
seen from history if denuvo servers
go down, it is the consumers who get
harmed, LEGIT PAYING CUSTOMERS,
comapred to pirates who have
unrestricted access to product. The
pirated product becomes the SUPERIOR
product. This message isn't coming
from a pirate who wants fre shit
because he/she is too cheap to buy
the product him/herself. This message
is coming from a consumer who was
pushed into the world of piracy
because many games get stuck with
denuvo longafter the sales period
has passed (see Mad Max on steam,
Deus Ex, Shadow of War, MGS V and
others). The moment that pushed me
into this came when I was on a trip
in a place with no wifi at all and
brought my gaming laptop to unwind.
Try to play some of my favourite
games only to realize over HALF my
PC library had bricked games because
I didn't "re-authenticate" my
purchase online. Made me realize a
good chuck of my games were at the
mercy of servers prone to crashing or
shutting down. Newsflash,
everyone can be on the internet 24/7
and I paid cold hard cash for func-
tional products! This message is
coming from someone who is willing
to give metaphorical arms and legs
to Empress to break this shit because
I care for the longevity of your
games and the rights of the consumer.
What benefit does this have for the
consumer? None. What benefit does it
have for you after that first year of
sales or after your DLC plans are
concluded? None. So why keep it?
Whatever the reason is, I'll tell you
how it comes off, spiteful and anti-
consumer. You want to stop piracy?
Remove denuvo once its served its
purpose of protecting the initial
sales period or period when DLC plans
have ceased. Becase as someone who
was AND STILL IS a paying customer of
great games, these tactics are
driving more and more people to
pirate them (remember Spore?). All
I ask is for you to treat the
consumer right by removing this DRM
once its served its purpose. The fact
that I could play a pirated/completed
copy of Planet Coaster or SE4 NOW
while consumers get stuck with
crippled version saddled with Denuvo
is ludicrous. Please rethink your
strategy with denuvo, coming from
a fan who has bought and will still
buy your great games."
