PLOT SUMMARY
Diverse, classy and clever, Party Animals is a gripping BBC drama
series from the makers of This Life and No Angels. Having screened
locally on the ABC, it follows several young political researchers
and advisors in Westminster trying to balance their burgeoning
careers with turbulent personal lives.
Brothers Scott (Andrew Buchan) and Danny Foster (Matt Smith) view
the political landscape through different lenses. Danny is the
determined researcher for Home Office Junior Minister Jo Porter
(Raquel Cassidy: Teachers, Moving Wallpaper) and he is about to
make an enormous mistake - one that will force him to defend his
integrity and his job. Scott is a confident lobbyist whose world
is turned upside down when he meets the beautiful Ashika Chandiramani
(Shelly Conn), chief advisor to Shadow Minister James Northcote
(Patrick Baladi: The Office). Ashika is beginning to seek change
as she grows weary of being strung along by her boss in more ways
than one. The lives of these characters intertwine in monumental
ways as the series progresses
Drawing on a wealth of first-hand research, Party Animals presents
Westminster from the ground up - the young researchers and advisors
shouldering huge responsibility in a frantic, high-stakes world.
It's no wonder their personal lives are so messy.
Ambition, power, sex, friendship, love and politics are just a few
of the themes tackled by this bold new series. With a riveting
cliff-hanger at the end of the very first episode, it's a certainty
that the more Party Animals you watch, the more you'll want to watch.
