DESCRiPTiON
Dispatches is a British television current affairs documentary series on
Channel 4, first transmitted in 1987. The programme covers issues about
British society, politics, health, religion, international current affairs and
the environment.
Jon Snow reports on general practitioners who have been responsible for
repeated misdiagnoses, but have been allowed to continue practising. He
highlights how, six years after the Shipman Inquiry called for increased
scrutiny to be placed on doctors, GPs who have been sanctioned by the
authorities in the past are seldom assessed, and hears from a whistleblowing
doctor and nurse who reveal flaws in the way patients are alerted to cases
of malpractice.
