An evil enchantress. A kidnapped lover. A legion of enemies. What's
missing? A tiny knight wielding a huge spade, of course! Welcome to
Shovel Knight, available on Nintendo 3DS family systems.
As the diminutive warrior sworn to uphold the code of Shovelry - slash
mercilessly and dig tirelessly! - take command of your ShovelBlade to
dispatch enemies in this retro, 2D adventure, complete with 8-bit
visuals and a chiptune soundtrack.
You'll face the The Order of No Quarter, eight nefarious knights
responsible for taking your lost love. Hack and slash your way through
the land; upgrade your weapons and armour by digging for treasure; and
unearth relics to upgrade your shovelling skills.
As you progress, the world stages can be tackled in different orders.
Defeat the last level and you'll be able to exhume all the secrets of
New Game Plus: play from the start with full upgrades but fewer
resources and harder enemies. There's even a Challenge Mode chock-full
of mini games!
Don't forget your friends, though: StreetPass Arena lets you show off
your best chops, as you take on the ghosts of other players. Record
some footage, then tag another player to swap your clips. The first
one to hit the other knight or collect all the gems claims the reward.
Shovel Knight on Nintendo 3DS is pixel-perfect platforming with a huge
dollop of nostalgia. Now, pick up a shovel and get digging!
