Celebrate DOOM's 25th anniversary with the re-release of DOOM II.
This beloved sequel to the groundbreaking DOOM (1993) gave players
the brutal Super Shotgun to bear against deadlier demons, and the
infamous boss, the Icon of Sin.
Battle the demon hordes at home or on-the-go on Nintendo Switch.
The re-release of DOOM II includes:
To save Earth, you must descend into the depths of hell, survive
demon hordes, and take part in the fiercest battle ever.
The Master Levels, 20 additional levels made by the community and
supervised by the developers
Local 4 player multiplayer
Local 4 player co-op
Release Notes:
Install this DLC to enable all officially released Add-ons for DOOM
II (Classic). This includes:
No Rest For the Living (exclusive to Doom II)
TNT: Evilution
The Plutonia Experiment (Final DOOM)
As a bonus, we included the "John Romero's SIGIL" mod. Bethesda
only made it available for DOOM 1 for some reason but it still
works with DOOM II so we thought why not? If there are more
official addons to come, we will make sure to release them in the
future (thus the "Pack 1" title).
And yes, this also means you can add your own favorite WAD to Doom
2, but have in mind some mods only work with Doom 1 and some only
Doom 2 (which is probably the reason why Bethesda didn't include
the same mods for both games).
NFOFIX notes:
Oopsie we forgot one step in the original nfo on where to extract
the files. After extracting our release, rename "NintendoSDK" to
"BackupSaveData" and put "BackupSaveData" into an empty
"NintendoSDK" folder (i.e you will have for example:
YOURSD/NintendoSDK/BackupSaveData/ F00DD02000
/cache/ /0001).
Basically we forgot to create a "BackupSaveData" folder.
Or simply create "BackupSaveData" folder, and move the whole
NintendoSDK content into it, and then put "BackupSaveData" back into |
the empty NintendoSDK folder.
Sorry for that!
Install notes:
This release isn't your typical DLC that just needs a NSP
installation. Every Add-Ons are stored in a cache partition (not a
DLC nor a save).
You will 1/ need to extract our release to the root of your SD card
(so you will end up with a NintendoSDK folder).
After extracting our release, rename "NintendoSDK" to
"BackupSaveData" and put "BackupSaveData" into an empty
"NintendoSDK" folder (i.e you will have for example:
YOURSD/NintendoSDK/BackupSaveData/ F00DD02000
/cache/ /0001).
2/ Install DevMenu 6 if you don't have it already (comes with our
release).
3/ Launch DevMenu, go to the "Save Data" tab.
4/ Change "User" to "Backup in SD Card".
5/ Then import whichever/all 4 caches/mods you want to either
System Memory (eMMC) or SD Card.
6/ Boot up the game, select "Add-ons" and you will find the mods in
the "Installed" tab, where you can enable them.
7/ Profit.
Optional notes, how to create your own mods:
1/ Duplicate one of the add-on folder (for example
F00DD02000 for Doom II).
2/ In cache/ /0001/ put your WAD file and rename it
to whatever number/character you wanna use (1 to 5 are already used
by current mods so let's say you start with "6" or "a"). If you
name it 6.wad, then you will have to edit "metadata" at offset
0x126 and put "6" in ASCII (instead of 5 if it was 5.wad). Also at
offset 0x1712 if it says "doom1" then put "doom2" in ascii. There
are more stuff you can edit in there, it's just a standard Unity
asset (hint), so you can put your custom description or your custom
jpg to your own preference.
3/ Edit __BackupSaveDataInfo.xml, and change all 3 fields
SaveDataSize, AvailableSize, JournalSize to whatever size is the
addon (=0001 folder). It doesn't need to perfectly match, it just
needs to be bigger than the addon (sure you could set it to 300 MB
but then you will have a 300MB file to your NSW eMMC/SD Card
instead of whatever small size it is). Also edit the CacheIndex
value to something > 4. Max is 99, you cannot have more than 99
addons.
Also values are in hex so make sure you convert decimal to hex (e.g
7MB = 7 000 000 bytes = in hex).
To delete mods:
Either delete the game and reinstall it, or in DevMenu, in the Save
Data tab, find DOOM II, press "+", "Manage", and here you can find
every Cache partition (= addons/mods) you can delete.
