BURNOUT: CHAMPIONSHIP DRAG RACING lets you climb into your favorite
dragster that you've custom-built from scratch, peel out from the
starting line, and leave your competitors eating the smoke left in
your wake. You've never played a racing sim like this -- we're
talking the fastest motorsport in the world. Prepare to feel the
speed, the thrill and the power of the world's first drag racing
sim for the PC.

Installation & Rip Information

Ripped: Movies...about 100M of them.

To install Burnout, simply unzip all of the disks into a temporary
directory, make a directory to hold the game in (e.g. C:\BURNOUT)
then un-RAR the game into that directory:

unrar x -v -y burnout.001 c:\burnout

After the game has decompressed, run SETUP.EXE in that dir to
configure the game for your directory, then run SETSOUND.BAT
to configure your sound card for the game.

I HIGHLY advise that you play this game in DOS mode, not under
Windows (highly unstable). The game requires a VESA compliant
video card, so you may want to use UNIVBE (SciTech Display Doctor)
to enhance your performance.

If you plan to use the 3DFX version of the game, you MUST have
installed the DOS based GLIDE drivers for your card, and they
must be in a directory on your PATH statement, or the game will
not load properly. We had PILES of problems getting 3DFX to work,
even with the original CD, so expect patches from Bethesda soon.
(Bethesda...the king of patches. =)
