Game Notes

Fight the war in the vast expanse of the Ukraine as Adolf Hitler
launches his Wehrmacht on a quest for metals, oil, grain and coal.
All of the major battles in the Ukraine are included.
Your kampfgruppe will participate in the initial crossing of the
frontier at the San River and from there the rest depends on your
skills as the kampfgruppe commander.

You will feel the fear of facing the famous T-34 tank for the first
time and the tension of the closing of the great pocket at Kiev.
You will also take part in the largest tank battle ever fought
at Dubno where 5000 machines dueled over a 4 day period.
You may also be called on to rescue a surrounded artillery battery
at Uman or to follow in the path of the British Light Brigade at
Balaclava. You will face the struggle of keeping your kampfgruppe
advancing in the fall rains the mud and stopping Soviet breakout
attempts from the Kiev and Uman pockets.

There is still so much more in Lost Victories 1941.
You'll find dozens of pictures, backgrounds, historical documents
and insights into the 1941 campaign, plus numerous maps to help
find out where you are. As you win (or lose) battles, a map will
display them for you. For exceeding valor you may receive special
awards.

Installation

Unzip, unace. Run setup.bat. Run the game with mech.exe.

Ripped

Movies and other junk were send to the FEDS so they can anal-yze them
since they have too much time on their hands these days.

General Comments

For all those unaware/uninformed/misinformed... the Lost Victories
Mega Campaign addon is a retail addon for Steel Panthers: World at War.
Steel Panthers itself is now available free from Matrix Games, however as
mentioned the addon is strictly retail.

Why did we make this standalone when the original game is free? Two
reasons. One, making them available in one package is simply convenient.
More importantly, the full game download is over 400MB and full of
bloated loose WAV files, videos, etc. Being that this is the RIP scene
and standalone addons are always valued, we don't see this as any
exception. If you DO want those videos and such (we won't be releasing
anything ripped from the original as addons), you can leech the game
from the web or look for an ISO which is bound to follow (which contains
Steel Panthers: World at War as well as the Lost Victories campaign).

There's been a lot of changes since the Steel Panthers franchise (and
other titles) left the hands of SSI, and this is the first retail
product in the series for several years. Hope all you wargame freaks
and dictators-in-training enjoy it.
