Release Information:
Democracy is an intelligent and sophisticated game that entertains people,
but also teaches them a thing or two about politics as well. You may think
that politics is all sticking to your principles no matter what, but in
Democracy you'll quickly see just how easy it is to "compromise" those
principles to keep you seat in government.
Democracy starts with you in the seat of the President (or Prime Minister)
of a modern country. The country is run as a simple democracy where you
need to get over 50% of the vote in each election in order to remain in
power. The object of the game is to stay in power as long as possible, as
there are no limits to the number of terms you may serve. As the game
progresses, you influence the voters and the country by putting policies
into place. Different voting groups will have very different and often
conflicting views as to which policies are desirable.
Plenty of never-before-seen events and dilemmas, some of which may sound
familiar to recent world events.
Choose from many different countries.
Manage each turn of government development like policy changes, population
agenda, reelection, budget, overall satisfaction of the constituents.
Over 80 different policy changes, each with an emphasis slider you can
create a limitless number of political combinations to push whatever agenda
you wish.
