** READ THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS BELOW!!! DON'T JUST UN-RAR!! **

A "crack" was released by FACTOR98 for this update, but their "crack"
required you have the original CD, only worked on Skirmish/MP, and was
therefore essentially useless for the warez masses.

Well, Cavedog is at it again, and pounded out another update to its
smash hit title: Total Annihilation. And those little dogs just LOVE
making changes to their copy protection, just to mess up those with
a "warez" version of the game.

Grudge nailed them last time, so I figured it was my turn. They
added a cute check this time to see if your detected CD-ROM drive
letter matched that of the drive letter from where you loaded the
TOTALA.ID file. Sneaky little bastards...

Anyways, this update also includes all of the new units released to
date, and it does not require any other updates or patches, so if
you didn't manage to grab the v1.2 update, don't worry.

Installation & Rip Information

To install this update, simply unzip all of the files into a temporary
directory, then un-RAR the update into your existing TA directory,
(e.g. C:\TOTALA) overwriting files as necessary:

unrar x -v -y ta20b1up.001 c:\totala

The next step is to run the CLEANUP.BAT file that is in your TA
directory. This will remove files made obsolete by this update, and
allow the game to function properly (files on your HD seem to take
precedence over those in the update, which makes BAD things happen.)

Please note that this is a complete update to Total Annihilation and
can be applied to any previous version you have.
