Game Notes

If you have no display problems with CM 00/01 under DirectX then this is
the patch you need.

New to version 3.84

- Fixed some Polish competition schedules and rules.
- Club finance screen - values in certain currencies are now right
aligned and use less space if required.
- All selected nations now appear in menu for selecting a nation to
scout in.
- Fixed a bug when negotiating a contract with a player. The squad status
being offered would sometimes change to "First Team Regular" instead
of being kept the same as the previous status offered.
- Fixed rare crash which occured when Next Match screen is viewed.
- Fixed an extremely rare media crash fixed.
- Media generation tuned slightly to prevent 'div 1' players being tipped
for England CapsMatch Engine tweaked (and player ratings tuned)
- Players who are anxious to sign a new contract will always negotiate
now.

Installation

Unzip, Unrar. Copy all files/dirs to your CM0001 root directory.

Run CM0001U.REG to set the correct registry settings for update.

Run UPDATE\SETUP.EXE and follow instructions.

Run CM0001AU.REG to set the correct registry settings for the game.

Copy CRACK\CM0001.EXE to the root directory of CM0001 and replace the
existing executable.

General Comments

This is the REAL patched executable cracked, no fake + stolen crack shite
from FTS. Enjoy!

If you've missed out on the details from our previous NFO, read on..

The past few days have been a whole lot of bickering over a manager
game... actually, no bickering but from one source.

Championship Manager 2000/2001 was released by Divine back on the 26th.
Now, imo manager games are like pulling teeth, but to each their own.
We got it done, you all got to play it, and it was a nifty crack by
Cluster with a whole lot of CD checks taken care of. As is the way of
the scene, other people were working on the game as well, and some
even gave our guys some props for the overly protected footie manager.

Then came FTS and a "proper" rip. Ignoring their past track record,
lets look at the proper rip...

The Fantasy rip was well over twice the size of our own. The reason lies
in their inclusion of Quickstart game files. This is their entire basis
for putting out a proper rip.

Unfortunately for Fantasy:

a) The Quickstart files are available for download free from the
offical website. They are sorted team by team, so that if
you only wish to have certain quickstart files you can.
Although they come with the full game, they thus are not
required to be included in the rip, and as well will likely
be updated on the web throughout the months to come
(meaning if you just want the Brazilian Quickstarts, you can
get just those, and stay up-to-date).

b) FTS wanted to quote some rules about re-rips, although the NSA
rules they quoted to us were regarding rule #2, which mostly
deals with making rips smaller. Nevertheless, we'll play along
- since under these rules a new rip must be made within 48
hours, a period FTS went over - and this is IGNORING that fact
that their "proper" rip is anything but.

c) The FTS "rip" included Divine's crack. Although we didn't
notice this at first, since the FTS rip was invalid anyway,
we have to thank some members of Myth for bringing this to light.

Let us look at the CRACK for this game, and the patches that followed.
Mainly we'll be looking at the patches in this example.

Using a Hexeditor we see this:

DVN CRACK:

FTS CRACK:

Looks quite similar doesnt it? Actually, Not ONE SINGLE BYTE is changed.

The odds for this are EXTREMELY low. Compounding the fact is the
problem that FTS's so-called "update" patches are just hexxed to fool
the user into THINKING they have an updated EXE - they don't, it's
just our crack from the original game.

The 3.84 brings changes to the game EXE - the "3.84" patch from FTS
brings changes to the version number, cracker, and nothing else.

We should acknowledge that FTS has apologized for this incident. This
lengthy explanation is for those wondering why the FTS releases have
been nuked on most sites. We hope that FTS will deal with Matsmad in the
proper manner.
