Synopsis
A lone world rebels against an oppressive imperial power. As a key
commander in the uprising, you must bring this war from planet to
planet, engaging hostile forces for control of a multitude of 3D
worlds. Uprising puts you in the drivers seat of the Wraith, a
high-tech assault tank that serves as a mobile command center on the
3D battlefield. The Wraith is lethal in its own right, equipped with
sophisticated weapons and defensive systems that wreak havoc on the
enemy. But as powerful as the Wraith is, its not nearly enough to take
on an entire enemy world by itself. To win, you must call in and
direct a variety of futuristic AI units, troops, tanks, gunships, and
bombers each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Only by
deploying your units effectively can victory be achieved! Theres one
small catch, however. Deploying these allied forces depends on your
securing enough POWER to fuel your war effort. To mine power, you must
establish and hold strategic bases called Citadels throughout the
enemy landscape. Once a Citadel is established, its ready to mine
power. The more citadels you have, the more power you can generate,
the more units you can deploy, and the greater your chances of winning
this war.
Highlights
Uprising offers more action than a military sim, and more strategy
than a 3D shooter. Establish Citadel bases, mine power, build
factories, and fight along side legions of allied units all in an
immersive, first-person 3D world. Uprising gives new meaning
to the concept "You Are There."
Your high-tech assualt tank (Wraith) is loaded with tons of powerful
weapons including smart mines, tremor torpedoes, multi-stage missles,
spline gun, and flamethrowers. Blow up everything on the battlefield!
Upgrade your forces with allied troops, tanks, jet fighters and
bombers by researching and developing new technologies.
Play in instant action mode, or a large scale campaign featuring
over 30 unique scenarios. Random campaign generator guarantees it's
never the same mission twice.
Intuitive keyboard and mouse control for sweet "pick up and play"
action. Robust peripheral support includes joysticks, 3D eyewear and
3D graphics accelerators.
Installation Guide & Notes
Simple as always, just unzip the files then make a dir to store the game
in. eg: c:\games\uprising. Then, unRAR the files to there with WINRAR
due to long file names (Or use the UNRAR.EXE provided). After that, run
SETUP.EXE to insert the registry keys and if you have a 3DFX card run
UP3DFX.EXE, if your one of those lamers who doesn't, launch UPRISING.EXE!
I have to say, the 3DFX version vs the non-3dfx is like night and day.
Without 3DFX, this game looks...well, you decide. :) Enjoy another
quality one from la familia!

Cracker's Notes
Besides the fairly simple CD-checks in this one, there was a nasty little
EXE CRC-check in there that is used during multiplayer play. A bitch to
track down, but worth the work. =) Think CLASS would have caught it? Nah.
