Accused of dealing Tek and murdering his
partners, ex-cop Jake Cardigan is sentenced to
fifteen years in a cryogenic prison. But after
only four years, he is released via the unlikely
intervention of Walter Bascom, head of shadowy
Cosmos Detective Agency. In return for his
"freedom", Jake must help Bascom derail Teklord
Sonny Hokori, who is poised on the brink of
world domination of the Tek trade. He links up
ith his ex-partner Sid Gomez, now also an ex-
op, and they go to work for the mysterious
Bascom. Their first job is a seemingly easy
missing persons case trying to locate a missing
scientist who may have developed a crystal to
destroy Tek chips.

But Jake has his own agenda...and with the help
of a beautiful scientist and an ex-lover turned
radical environmentalist, Jake winds his way
through a twisted maze of killer androids,
hologram battles, synthetic viruses, mutant
gangs, futuristic weapons and elusive druglords
in a relentless search for the mysterious
adversary who engineered his arrest and
destroyed his life.

This was originally broadcast as part of
Universal's Action Pack, an array of Universal
produced tv-movies and backdoor pilots. This
is the first of 4 Tek related movies. It went
on to spawn the Tek War tv series and many fans
were dissapointed to see that when the series
finally made it to DVD these movies were left
out. With any luck we'll track down the other
three. This is a surprisingly good LD and even
more surprisingly, a good watch!

Oh and this was directed and starred in by
the one and only William Shatner. Enjoy
