In a small fishermen's village there lived the reclusive Longren with
his daughter. Once an experienced sailor, he was now retired and
raising alone his little Assol. The neighbors avoided Longren's house,
holding him for an unsociable and vicious person. However, he and his
daughter were just not like the others, and only one man could discern
this. That man was a brave sailor named Gray who made Assol's fondest
wish come true. Since her childhood she had been waiting for a man that
would come to her on a ship under crimson sails...

The Russians don't take care of their old films, and this one, even
though short, didn't compress at all well. Plus, the R1 NTSC DVD was
blended from a PAL master.
Not all of the subtitles would play correctly. 4 of the languages made a
black screen when they were on. So, I split them and fixed the broken
ones. The Subs1 folder contains English, Spanish, French, Russian,
Italian, German, Dutch, Swedish, and Portuguese, with English as the
default. The Subs2 folder contains Hebrew, Japanese, Chinese, and Arabic,
with Japanese as the default.
DVDEmpire.com claims the DVD is 2.35:1, but it's not. The vobsample shows
it to be 1.33:1.
