Digitally re-mastered directors cut!

One of the world's most timeless and treasured
musical talents, BOB MARLEY has never before been
captured so richly and dynamically on screen. This
excellent film was produced in 1998 and screened in
film festivals around the globe throughout 1999-2001.
Some of them include, the FILMFEST D.C. in 2001,
The ST. BARTH CARRIBEAN FILM FESTIVAL in 2000, and
The THESSALONIKI DOCUMENTARY FESTIVAL in 1999
This Extended Directors Cut, Never Before Released,
was available on DVD in August 2002. Now No longer
available..., out of print. Any dvd collectors gem!!

Most of this Previously Unseen Footage comes from
the UPRISING TOUR at Westfalia Hall in DORTMUND,
Germany. June 26th, 1980. The very last tour of BOB
MARLEY and less than one year before his death...

Also included,
some footage of Marley peforming at the 1979 Reggae
Sunsplash Festival in Jamaica and scenes from Marley's
funeral in Kingston with the eulogy from Prime
Minister Michael Manley and the funeral march of
500,000 Jamaicans,

Audio Transfer Review:
Docurama has included two audio options for this
release - Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital 2.0
stereo. Only use the 2.0 stereo option if you
absolutely have to.., it is regrettably flat and
lifeless. The 5.1 track is dramatically fuller,
and provides substantially more depth to Marley's
music. The surviving Reggae Sunsplash concert
footage from 1979 has the weakest sound quality on
the disc, with a noticeable amount of crackle. The
German concert from 1980, which makes up the bulk of
this disc, is a major improvement. The rear channels
are used sparingly.

Outro
This is more than just a concert disc. It points out
Marley's undisputed impact on not just reggae, but on
Jamaican culture too. The concert footage collected
by director Stefan Paul has never been seen before,
and the sad irony of much of it having been recorded
less than a yr prior to Marley's death makes it that
much more dramatic. It truly captures the revolutionary
spirit & artistic brilliance of one of the 20th century's
most influential musicians.
