Plot Outline  : 3 college age friends fulfill their surfing fantasy
by making a pilgrimage to the north shore of Oahu
to ride the big waves.  Once there they fall in with
the big wave riders that make the trip every year and
the girls that are attracted to them (except innocent
Shelly Fabres who seems only to be there by accident).
While they wait for Waiamea Bay to break they content
themselves with Makaha, Sunset and Pipeline.  When
Waiamea finally starts to break the real competition
starts.  Who will be the one to stick it out to take
off, drop in and make the last ride?

Ripper's Notes:

Even with pool shots of the actors on their boards and the lousy rear
projection surfing close-ups(ala Gidget and Beach party), this movie
always rocked because real life kings of surf Greg Knoll and Mickey
Dora doubled some of the actors in the real surf scenes and the story
is actually superior to the other "surf" movies made to cash in on the
surf craze of the early 60s.  Killer surf footage of badass big wave
riders sets this one apart from the other Hollywood beach pap of the
era.
