Notes ....: This movie recently had a "Remastered" edition recently released in Germany.
I loved you first Some moronic studio called "Nameless Media" licenced the movie from Sony,
and decided to make a rough low budget 16mm shot movie look more modern.
They took a universaly regarded as a top notch transfer, applied obscene
amounts of DNR and digital Sharpening, and flogged it as Remastered.
The original untempered versions are also available on their 50 EUR
collectors edition set.
Here are a couple of examples of their waxy crap:

It appears the only English scene releases of this movie are from the "enhanced 1.85:1
Widescreen presentation" version. The movie was shot and screened originally in 1.33:1 and later
in 2001, got the WS treatment, to appeal to the more modern crowd.
Basically, the WS is mostly just the 1.33:1 top and bottom cropped out:

We used the excellent 2010 American blu-ray to offer the original FS version.
Hopefully, no feisty group is planning on using the Remastered abomination.
Calling something Remastered doesn't always means it's better (e.g. Man Who Fell From Earth,
Rumble Fish French edition etc).
Tomorrow's just your future yesterday!
