Plot

Once a Thief is an action/comedy/romance movie involving the plight of
three master thieves (in the mode of Pink Panther). All three were
raised by the same father and in fact were most certainly street orphans.
The story begins with a successful art heist followed by a pledge to
make this the last crime ever for the trio. The plot revolves around
the theft of a mysterious "cursed" painting and how its obsession
affects the family.

Ripper's Notes

Recently both English company HKL and Hongkong company iVL have
released their dvd "Once a thief". Comparing these two version we
think that IVL is better than HKL in image quality.

to see the comparison in detail. So we decide to rip using IVL materials.
Beside this HKL's dvd includes "Walking Through Shadows", which is a
10-minute video tribute to Leslie Cheung presented by Bey Logan from
the Mandarin Oriental Hotel where Leslie Cheung sadly jumped to his
untimely death. The piece is compiled of footage from Once A Thief,
A Chinese Ghost Story and A Better Tomorrow and film of Bey talking
in detail about Leslie Cheung s career. Bey talks about how Cheung
transcended a number of barriers in the Hong Kong entertainment industry
and his visual impact on the screen where Bey selects his favorite
moments of Leslie Cheung in Once A Thief.
This is a nice touch by Bey Logan and HKL who pay a well earned tribute
and briefly celebrates and illuminates a career that casual Hong Kong
film fans mat not be that familiar with.
In a few days it will be Leslie Cheung's deathday. In order to commemorate
this great actor we also decide to rip this extra video and swear to
god that we miss and love him. He will be forever living in our hearts.
May he see this in heaven and rest in peace.
