NOTES
*sigh* .. rev2 of the x264 rules came out today and imo raises
nothing but questions. The intro brings up issues that are never
addressed in the rules. Apparantly some dvd9s give too high of a
bitrate so 1.5xdvd5 should be used. But what is this max bitrate?
DVD9 should be used only in cases of long movies, but how long is
long. Maybe 137 mins / 7651 bitrate is too high, but I suppose I
won't actually know that. If yer gonna write a ruleset, why not
make it as clear as possible. Acceptable resolutions are spelled
out, yet there is nothing concerning max bitrate or runtimes. It
is suprising because everything else is overly spelled out, aka
'Use the aspect ratio on the source, not what IMDB says.' Wanna
try for a rev3 sometime soon?
