features Umberto Tozzi's original  hit singles Gloria and  Ti Amo
later covered by Laura Brannigan.
Moving Out is the much-loved and remembered Australian film  that
helped  to  introduce  the talents  of  several  major Australian
filmmakers including star Vince Colosimo (Street Hero,  Lantana),
Director Michael Pattinson (Street Hero, Ground Zero), Writer Jan
Sardi (Shine, The Notebook, Love's Brother) and Co-Producer  Jane
Ballantyne (Man of Flowers, Cactus).
In Sardi's semi-autobiographical  screenplay Vince plays  Gino, a
young Italian Australian, growing  up in inner city  Melbourne of
the 1970s. His migrant parents are about to live out their  dream
and move to a bigger home in suburban Doncaster. For them 'moving
out' means a chance to build a better life for their family.  For
Gino  it means  a break  from all  he knows.  School, mates,  and
girls.
Caught  between two  worlds Gino  is aggressively  Australian at
school and calls his parents, who only speak Italian, "wogs".  At
home he  is their  reluctant translator  harbouring his  own self
-disgust about being a migrant.
As  he travels  through his  adolescence Gino  is also  about to
realise he is moving out in more ways than he ever imagined.
