Two drag-queens (Anthony/Mitzi and Adam/Felicia)
and a transexual (Bernadette) contract to perform
a drag show at a resort in Alice Springs, a resort
town in the remote Australian desert. They head west
from Sydney aboard their lavender bus, Priscilla. En
route, it is discovered that the woman they've
contracted with is Anthony's wife. Their bus breaks
down, and is repaired by Bob, who travels on with them.
Drie show-girls - twee travestieten en n transseksueel
uit Sydney zijn het leven in de grote stad beu. Zij willen
bovenal opvallen en dat is praktisch onmogelijk in een stad
als Sydney. Het drietal besluit een uitnodiging aan te nemen
voor een optreden in Alice Springs, midden in de woestijn.
In hun oude bus, Priscilla gedoopt, beginnen zij aan een reis
vol komische, bizarre en gevaarlijke avonturen.
