? Plot Outline : Fleeing from enemies, a wounded samurai arrives at a
mysterious old temple in a remote location in the
mountains carrying a wounded comrade. The doors to the
temple are opened by a beautiful woman who beckons them
? inside. Unable to walk any further, the samurai drops
his fellow soldier then collapses from exhaustion.
He awakens to find his comrade is gone and his own
? wounds miraculously healed. He meets a mysterious man
who gives him food and then persuades him to stay the
night. As they drink sake his host tells him of a
legend about a goblin living in the mountains that dines
? on human flesh. He tells him that the locals call the
goblin "Tengu" but his real name is "Aragami". When the
samurai asks if Aragami poses a threat to the temple,
his host simply answers "I am Aragami..."

This movie about a duel between two warriors is itself one half of a
duel between directors. The Duel Project is a contest between Ryuhei
? Kitamura(Aragami) and Yukihiko Tsutsumi(2LDK). The theme of both movies
is two characters engaging in a duel to the death. Enjoy this fine,
minimalist movie from the director of "Versus" and "Azumi".
