Ok, yes we are aware that both this and our other int Spartacus have
just been released about a week ago. This came as quite a surprise to
us first when GZP released Ben-Hur because for about a week we had been
playing with and perfecting settings for the new XviD 1.0 codec so we
could rip and release internals of what we feel are two of the most
important movies in the history of cinema . We did feel relieved shortly
after it was pre'd tho because it turned out to have BAD AR so we felt
we could still release our copy without much fret from the scene. Then
right when both encodes were finishing up about 2 days later a group
named BELiAL releases both of these movies, and both are technically
correct rips. We felt saddened tho that they choose to use an ancient
build of XviD for their rips and also only choose 2cds, which resulted
in bad quality for both movies. In our opinion, both of these movies
deserved a full 3cds in order to maintain great quality throughout
because of the length. Considering that both epic roman dramas had won
mulptible Oscars (Ben-Hur won 11, and Spartacus won 4) we felt that it
was our duty to the scene to go ahead and release these two fine films
in the strongest quality they can be, as all movies should be. When you
get the DVD for Ben-Hur you notice that because of the length, with full
intermission and overture,this DVD is split to a side A, which is 2 hour
and 21 minutes, and side B which is 1 hour and 21 minutes. In order to
maintain relatively the same quality throughout, and not have side A
looking like a nice 2cd and side B looking like a average 1cd, we took a
suggestion from the scrumtrulescent MDX and made it 4 files that fit on
3cds. We also included samples from BELiAL's and our releases at the
same position in the film. We hope you will enjoi this and our release
of Spartacus, we know that we enjoi'd making them for all of you. ;)
