PLOT

Picture Cinderella driving to the royal ball in a
beautiful pumpkin coach pulled, not by mice, but by a
large purple beast named Splurge and driven by a singing
frog named Kermit! That's only part of thewacky fun
that's in store for you in this charming and tune-filled
Muppet version of the classic fairy tale.

RIP NOTES

By 1969 Jim Henson was starting to get some proper
budgets to work with, which resulted in this reimagining
of the classic Cinderella tale, complete with various
Muppets, and as always Kermit to tie it all together.
By this time, esteemed Muppet performer Jerry Nelson
had also joined the troupe, who would later go on to
perform beloved characters Gobo Fraggle, Count von Count
and many others. Interestingly, this special was
co-written by Tom Whedon, who had started working on
the idea in 1964, the same year his middle son Joss
was born. You might know him as the creator of Buffy,
Angel and Firefly.

career of Jim Henson, from humble beginnings
until his untimely death 20 years ago.

Every day until Christmas we will be bringing

is to provide real insight into the vast
output of one of the greatest story-
tellers of the 20th century, and the
many talented performers and enablers
that allowed true Muppet magic to grow.
