In Burnfield, a fictional suburb of
Austin, TX, five young adults who have
nothing to do with their lives, decide
to hang out at "the corner" outside of
a convenience store one night. On the
same night, their friend, the only
successful member of the group, now a
rock star, has returned to his hometown
to revisit his old stomping grounds.
The friends hang out and talk about
inane subjects, while realizing that
they've been wasting away their lives
doing nothing. They each want to make
something of themselves, but ultimately,
few of them do.
-+ Rip Notes +-
After writing and directing the wonderful
little romantic flick Before Sunrise, Richard
Linklater decided to make a screen adaptation
of Eric Bogosian's play subUrbia. We're glad
he did, cause this really is one one of his
most underrated and underappreciated titles.
Capturing the true spirit of the 90s, subUrbia
is a movie about nothing. More specifically
though, it's about a night in the lives of a
bunch of kids in Anywhere, America, loitering
around their godforsaken little town, drinking
and fantasizing about making it in the big city
- or not. It's about hopes and dreams, and the
futility of it all, and life and relationships
and everything important. At the same time, it's
just a bunch of kids getting drunk outside a
convenience store.
The ever awesome Steve Zahn reprises his stage
role in the movie, and is joined by Giovanni
Ribisi, Parker Posey, and several 90s faces you'll
recognize but can't name.
Enjoy, and see if you can also find it in your
heart to Free a Gnome[1]!

-+ Who We Are +-
Since 2003, FLAiR has been dedicated to pres-
erving the neglected titles of an entertainment
era long gone. A time of classic kids flicks,
painstaking hand-drawn animation and countless
cheesy low-budget horrors. A time when pop had
a King, and rock had a Queen. A time when special
FX wizards ruled, and CGI was just one of their
many tools.
Driven by nostalgia and memories of better
days, we seek to relive those times, and share
those memories. While our belief is that the
80s represent the very pinnacle of pop culture,
we will not limit ourselves to one decade, or
any single genre. We will not ignore the movies
considered insignificant or even embarrassing by
the studios. We will not disregard a timepiece
just because it is dated.
Whereas most groups rely solely on digital
sources, there are still thousands of rare and
out of print titles, many of which have no
planned digital release. We've made it our
mission to dig these out, clean them up using
the best hardware and techniques available to
us, and share them with the world. Be it VHS,
Laserdisc or more exotic formats, we're here
to bring you the best (and worst!) of decades
past. So sit back and enjoy as we uncover and
pay tribute to an age of cinema we will never
get back.
