PLOT SUMMARY     : In order to secure the hand of the king of
Corinth's daughter, Jason abandons Medea and
her two sons. Fearing Medea's rage, the king
of Corinth threatens Medea with death if she
remains in the kingdom. In a passionate, though
perversely calculated rage over Jason's
betrayal, Medea poisons king and daughter,
hangs her sons, and escapes, leaving Jason lost
in the tragedy of his own making.
