PROPER NOTES : Various rumors has floated around saying iNFAMOUS
has been using 1click/transcoders on several of their
latest releases. We are not going to judge this for now,
but their release of Inside Man made us take a closer
look.
First of all, some nfo's with information about encoding
and stuff has not been complete. In info about bitrate
they just give us a ";)" or "nice" or not even anything
at all. Even though you say you use 6 passes, that does
not complete the information we all want, and SHOULD be
included. What is the point about a NFO if the most
important info is left out? You are not showing any
respect for the rules that is made for groups who wants
to participate in the scene. If you can not fill in any
info about how much bitrate you have encoded a movie in,
you should stay away from the scene as well.
If you use DVD Remake or similar tools for encoding or not,
is not easy for us to prove. However, there is still quality
difference between CCE and transcoders. No matter how much
you try to hide it, quality issues can not be hidden. We for sure
know scenarist is not used for this authoring. Then the only
option left using cce for encoding, would be dvd-rebuilder.
I have used cce for encoding movies several years now,
and i have NEVER seen anything like the quality of iNFAMOUS
rip of Inside Man. If CCE was _really_ was used here,
you must have done something terrible wrong...
What i noticed at first sight, was the lines between the black
boarders (top and bottom) and picture. It seems like "chess"
bricks moving all the time. there is not a "clean" line, as it
should be. I've never seen CCE done anything like this. This
may not look like a big deal on a regular tv's, but if you have
a large format tv, 42" or larger, this is pretty annoying.
Also. Our release is encoded with same amout of passes, 6. I
believe bitrate should be close to the same. However, there is
huge image quality differences.
I dont want to sit here all day writing how it looks like.
Screenshots are included. Compare pictures of the same scenes,
zoom in a little to see closer. A 300% zoomed screenshot is
inlcuded aswell. If you think our images is "made up", you
can always do the check yourself by downloading both releases.
Like we said, it is hard for us to prove wich tools and how
others do their rips, but we can prove that our release has
way better quality, and then you can make up your mind
about how this was possible if we used same number of passes
with same encoder...
