M O V i E   S U M M A R Y

Ben Lyon plays a waterfront reporter who suspects a fisherman of
smuggling Chinese immigrants into the country on his boat. He starts
romancing the fisherman's daughter for the obvious journalistic reasons
but you can guess what happens eventually. Even though the story hasn't
dated that well, this is a classic that's worth seeing.

A year later Claudette Colbert hit the jackpot by starring opposite Clark
Gable in It Happened One Night. If he had been her co-star in this one,
it might have turned out great, instead of merely good. There are some
cool shark scenes in this one, though. See the sample for a teaser. The
DVD is a cheap one by a cheap company. Unrestored, it has loads of nicks
and scratches, and a ton of film grain and noise. But the rip didn't turn
out too badly.
