* Some Special Features Have Optional Subtitles
In Some Languages
* I've Modified The PGC Chain So It Won't Play Through
Stripped Content After Hitting The Play Button However
If Certain Subtitles Are Selected You May Have To Wait
2-3 Seconds. I Didn't Modify The Chain With Any Of The
Foreign Subs... Haven't I Done Enough As Is ;)
THE VoMiT PROPER DiV. OVER FUCK UP GROUPS BRiNGS TO YOU:
!!! MPTDVD !!!
MPTDVD = (M)ost (P)athetic (T)eam of (D)igital (V)ideo (D)umbasses
Next On The List Of Sh!t Groups To Avoid... And I'm Sure This
Group Comes As NO Big Surpirse... I Give You MPTDVD. I Don't
Think MPTDVD Can Go 5 Releases Without Getting Nuked, Getting
Propered Or Having To Release A Fix For Something They Fucked
Up. And No Surprise Here Again. Wait Why Am I Getting So Worked
Up? All They Did [This Time] Was Release A DVD Undersized 80MB
On A Standard 9to5 Conversion. And They Gave Us Untouched Video
So Why The Big Deal? Well Let's Look At Their Release A Little
Little Further Than Just The Size Of It Shall We...
First Let's Turn Our Attention To The The MPTDVD Release And
The Subtitles And Subtitle Menu Selection. We Have A Total Of
5 Valid Referenced Subtitle Streams But In The Menu Selection
There Is 6 [LANG: EN,FR,ES,TH,KO,ZH] And 3 [COMM: EN,ES,KO],
Totalling 9 Sub Stream Selections. So A Plethora Of Subtitle
Choices. Now The Only Valid Subtitle Streams In The Release Is
3 [LANG: EN,FR,ES] & 2 [COMM: EN,ES] Subtitles. So Where Did
The 4 Phantom Subtitles Go ??? Now Their Source As They Claim
Is REGiON 3 [That's South East Asia] Mainly The People That
Would Want These [Chinese,Korean And Thai] Subtitles But They
Aren't Here. I Mention This Because On The REGiON 1 Retail Has
The Same Choices Via Menu, But One Big Difference. The Subs
Are ACTUALLY There! I'll Give The Group The Benefit Of The
Doubt Tho As I Don't Have The R3 Retail DVD. I've Seen Menus
In Retails Before With Links To Content Not Actually On The
Disc. Studios Release Lesser Quality Discs On Different Markets.
I Suppose The Studios Are Just Putting Random Subtitles On The
Different Region DVDs By Pulling Them Out Of A Hat While Blind-
folded Nowadays. The U.S. Gets Asian Subs And Asia Gets Spanish
And French Or Dutch Subs etc. You Get My Point. But MOSTLY I'll
Give Them The Benefit Of The Doubt, That Doubt Being, I Doubt
That These Dumb Fucks Are Even Skilled Enough To Rip Between
Streams, Remove The References And Actually Correct The SetSTN
Commands. And When I Look At The Substream Indexes, I Can See
That The Subs Have The Same Indexes As The R1, But Clearly, SUBS
HAVE BEEN REMOVED AND REORDERED But The Indexes Not Changed. If
You Know What Im Talking About, Compare These Two Rips. Its Hard
To Miss. So Either They Stripped The Subtitles, Which Why They
Would Is Beyond Me Or The Studio Went Through The Trouble Of
Removing Subs That Would Benefit The R3 Purchasers. I Figure That
Equals Less Profit So Why Go Through Trouble To Hurt Your Sales ?
And As For MPT, At The Very Least? Remove The Damn Buttons. When
You Try To Use The Buttons On The Removed Subs The Non-Existent
Streams Still Have Valid, Yet Now Obsolete Commands. [ie. Thai
Subs = SetSTN(7) Which Actually Sets STN(7)] But With No Seventh
Substream It Links To Nothing Or It Will Reset Back To The First
Valid Stream [That Being English] Depending On Your Player. Kill
The Buttons For Removed [Or In This Case Non-Existent] Content,
It's In The Rules! Which Brings Me To My Next Discovery...
They Killed The Special Features Buttons, Links To The Bonus
Features And Previews, [Well At Least In The English Menus They
Did] Good Idea Right ? Well Yea! What You Expected Me To Say
"No It Was A Bad Idea" :P Well Maybe It Was And Maybe It Wasn't
First When The Feature Is Finished The Chain Leads You Right
Into The Previews Menu By Default. Which Then Links You Back To
The Menus With All The Stripped Content And Will Send Your DVD
Player On A Ride If You Choose To Execute Anything. But At The
Very Least They Did Kill The Main Menu Link To It. So Will Cut
Them So More Slack And Again Blame It On The Studios. Either A
Badly Authored Disc, Or Ya All Know SONY As Im Sure You Do, Just
One More Way To Try To Get More Of Your Money From You. Slam The
Advertisements In Your Face. They'll Find Everyway Possible,
Link The Preview Menu Post Feature! I See It In Alot In Newer
Titles Now. Anyway I'm Starting To Ramble Here, Just Began To
Scrape The Release Problems Here, And Haven't Got To Why The Rip
Is Really Shit.
Let's Look In Depth At That Menu Now, This Is Where It All Went
To Hell For Them. We Have A Single Menu And One Menu Language
Unit With 5 Languages For The Huge Variety Of People In South
East Asia. It Was Nice Of Them To Keep Those For Everyone, Not
Required But A Nice Gesture. The Additional Languages Only Took
Up 155MB. The English Menus Added Up To 146MB For A Total 301MB.
When We Look At The Feature Menu On Their Release AND On The R1
Retail, I'm Looking At A Total Of 591MB... So Where The Hell Is
This Extra 290MB Coming From [290MB, Hmm Reminds Me Of Another
Release]. The Extra 290MB Was JUNK Bullshit Data The Studio
Disguised As Valid Data Once Again And Hid It Underneath A Set
Of English Menu Buttons. And They Actually Made Valid Calls To
The Cells Where The Data Was Stored. [VTSM1 PGCS77-80]. I Say
Valid Because The Calls Are There But With The Values Set For
The Calls To Be Made It Would Never Happen In Their Release. But
I'm Not Going Into A DVD-Video Lesson Here Tho. If You Know What
You're Doing, Take A Look For Yourself. So In Actuallity We Have
An 80MB Undersized Release Plus The Extra 290MB Of Junk Data,
Equalling A Total Of 370MB Undersized!!! Not So Small Now Is It.
I'll Give Them The Credit Of The 155MB On Foreign Menus As Their
Claimed Source Is A Region 3 And Not Aimed At An English EndUser
It Contains The English Menu At Least And Its Not Required In
The Standards To Remove Optional Menu Languages Or They'd Be By
Just Over Half A GB.
So We Were Given Release With A Main Feature Size Of [3732MB] +
A Menu Size Of [591MB] = 4342MB Still Under The Allowed Release
And 370MB Of It Is Junk|Inaccessible Data PMSL!!! Plus The Disc
Takes Hours To Load On A Standalone With No First Play On The
Main Menu. It Jumps Through The 5 Million Previews SONY Wants Us
To Watch Before [And After] The Movie ;). Also After Hitting The
Play Button It Jumps Through More Stripped Content. Ive Modified
Our Release To Minimize This Behaviour Now If You Wanna Validate
All This Information You're Gonna Have To Download The Two Rips
And Really Take A Look. I'm NOT Making More Proof Screens. It's
Already Nuked Anyway, So Saves Me One More Task Too.
Now For All The Lame Fucks Out There That Want To Play Devil's
Advocate And Just Argue For The Sake Of Arguing. Let Us Look At
The PROPER. I've Stripped Out All The Junk Content, Removed The
Foreign Menus But Kept All The Foreign Subs [More Than MPTDVD
Had]. Kept The Same Single English 5.1 Audio Stream And With The
Extra Space I Was Able To Keep 9 Of 10 Deleted Scenes [Removed
The One PG-13 Version Over The R Version] And Also Kept The
Largest Featurette And Removed The Two Small Featurettes. And
Was Still Able To Maintain Untouched With Extra Features Instead
Of Sh!t, And We Now Have A Nice Release Size Of 4.36GB [With 0MB
Of Junk, Inaccessible Data]. So If You Want To Argue That "Well
Their Video Was Untouched Too So Whats The Diffference", "It's
Qualatative" Or "More Complete" Than You Haven't READ OR DON'T
UNDERSTAND WHAT I'VE JUST SAID And You Are Just As Stupid A Fuck
As Them. The Standards Are Overdue For A Rewrite, But Why Bother
No One Would Even Follow Them Anyway And I Bet You Wouldn't Find
5 Groups To Sign Them, Because I Don't Think There Are 5 Groups
Out There Anymore That Would Be Able To Follow Them Let Alone
Write Them.
Anyway You All Keep On Releasing 'em And I'll Keep On PROPERiNG
'em ;) And A Special Thanx To SONY For The Fun DVD To Work With
This One Was A Real Treat. ;p
Enjoy Another PROPER Retail R1 >:)
