||, Notes ....: We initially did this movie from an earlier blu-ray
release. About a year later better quality releases
started showed up but we prefered waiting for the ultimate
Criterion release to offer a superior quality release.
It's no match at all to the blu-ray release we used before.
The old one had massively Zoomed-in frame, crushed blacks,
unnatural overly saturated colors, aggressive digital
sharpening, 25fps and AC3 256k.

The Criterion release is from a new 4K digital restoration,
supervised by director Roman Polanski. Reviews determined
that despite having a lower video bitrate compared to the
other recent releases the "black levels look superior...
The Criterion is darker, skin tones negligibly warmer, and
contrast appears tighter producing richer visuals."
