CLANS OF INTRIGUE is another in the series of Shaw Bros swordplay
adventures. This one is a bit less action-packed than the earlier films
and plays more as a detective drama, with the emphasis on an elaborate
investigation as a smiling swordsman/thief framed for murder tries to
find out who has killed three clan chiefs and why.

Finally, another Shaw Bros DVD that's mastered better than the others. I
was able to IVTC this one back to its original PAL framerate. Thanks to
everyone who gave tips and advice on how to rip these difficult Asian
DVDs. Also note that the soundtrack on this one has been remastered in
stereo, so I encoded accordingly. You might notice that SOME of the sound
effects look like they're async. Chalk it up the plain bad dubbing. It's
the same way on the original DVD.
The subtitles off the DVD were tiny, so I adjusted the settings in the
.idx file so that they're bigger. Also remember to set your vertical
padding setting in DirectVobSub to "extend to 4:3", and it'll put the
subtitles in the black part of the picture. :)
