A not bad interpretation of an interesting
book by thriller writer Alistair Maclean,
who has also written the screenplay in this
instance.  If this adaptation has anything
going for it, it must surely be that it,
it must surely be that it at least attempts
to keep to the essential essence of the
original novel, which was quite a page-
turner.
Were this film to be made today, I believe
it could be made much better, but still, it
is an enjoyable romp made more enjoyable by
the pairing of Anthony Hopkins with the
luscious Nathalie Delon. Recommended.

YES, the AR is really 1.29:1 . The source is 4:3 FS,
but after cropping its not 1.33:1 but 1.29:1.
The DVD was recently released in scandinavia...
Weird enough, besides the unusual AR the pal source
was interlaced. The rip quality is by far not perfect,
this is due to the bad mastering of the DVD. There are
artifacts all over the screen, and the camera isn't
really fixed either.
Anyway, we recommend this movie to anyone who either
likes Sir Hopkins, old classic undercover-agent
thrillers, or both.
