Thousands of instances of dirt, debris, scratches, splices,
warps, jitter, and flicker were manually removed.
The original monaural soundtrack was remastered at 24-bit
from a 35mm optical soundtrack print.
This offers a real drastic improvement in every area compared
to the old BFI Blu-Ray release. The old one had large parts
cropped off on all sides, and was horizontaly stretched.
The range of nuanced blacks, grays, and whites is much improved,
better balanced grain and so on.
