Plot outline
Based on the real-life experiences of Ed Horman,
this is the story of an American father of
conservative background who comes to a South
American country to search for his missing son,
a journalist. Ed joins with his daughter-in-law
Beth, who like her husband is politically
polarized from the father, in prying through the
bureaucracy and dangerous political intrigue in
search of their son and husband. Little by
little, the father comes to realize that his own
beloved government is not telling him the truth.
Missing is a great political movie. PROMiSE did
this in 2004, so with a new criterion out, we had
to internal it. This rls is packed with some great
extras. I had to include them. An interview with
director Costa Gavras from 1982 and 2006. Two
segments in one (thats why the cropping is askew).
An interview with Ed Hormans wife, Joyce. Interview
from Cannes where the film won two prizes. A small
piece with the producers. An interview with author
Peter Kornbluh who speaks about the situation in
Chile and the case of Charlie Horman. A cpl of
those pal to ntsc extras still got traces of
ghosting but they look the best i could get wiht
srestore. Otherwise enjoy this great package from
FLS and Criterion.
Chk out beaver and others for review...
