Notes...: This recently restored version features a
reconstruction of the original German intertitles.
English subtitles for those and the opening text
briefly talking about the reconstruction are muxed
as per usual. Instead of recreating the original
score, new music from British band "The Tiger Lillies"
was chosen to accompany the picture. Since this is
just about the most dreadful thing I ever heard, I
would suggest you do one of the following four things:
1) Watch it like this and cringe at the horror coming
from your speakers,
2) watch it with no sound at all,
3) find some other music to watch it with,
4) or watch the slightly shorter US cut featuring organ
music probably more akin to the original score (or
maybe it is even a rerecorded version of just that,
I'm not sure on this, though).
In any case, enjoy this German silent classic!
