`:Fabio Frizzi's 'Zombie Flesh Eaters' was Death Waltz's
`:inaugural release (shortly to get a fancy gatefold reissue :'
`:by the look of things), and they've got more Frizzi for us :'
`:this week by way of this reissue of the legendary Italo-
`:horror composer's score to the late Lucio Fulci's gore-
`:ridden chiller 'City Of The Living Dead'. Not only that but:'
`:we've got a 10-minute 'Live Suite' of music from the film, :'
`:recorded at Death Waltz's "Frizzi 2 Fulci" extravaganza at :'
`:Union Chapel last Halloween (which I went to and can testify'
`:was ace).
`:All Frizzi's trademarks are here - ridiculously funky bass :'
`:parts, along with chilling atmospherics from synths,
`:violins, flutes, brass, guitar and ominous wordless choral :'
`:bits. Much like his contemporaries Goblin, Frizzi was a
`:master of that balance between spooky, futuristic minimalism'
`:and that irresistibly funky Italo-horror strut. Frizzi's
`:mixture of John Carpenter-ish synth lines, Goblin-esque
`:guitar/bass/drums/keys funk-prog and more romantic chamber-:'
`:orchestral arrangements is expertly balanced, and the live :'
`:recording is of such quality that, crowd noise aside, it
`:blends right in with the rest of the LP.
