PLOT
Mighty Mouse and Pearl Pureheart are trapped
by self-styled "evil genius" Harry the Heartless,
the worst villain in the universe. Pearl, in her
spacecraft, is pursued by Harry, who has captured
a Doomsday Machine. After escaping from Harry,
Mighty Mouse and Pearl are confronted with Harry's
prized monster. After a series of battles, Mighty
Mouse is hung over a pool of hungry sharks...
RIP NOTES
Filmation were the true American pioneers of
limited animation, and were well known for being
cheapskates. It should come as no surprise then,
that in 1982, when Star Wars fever was once again
hitting the world full on, they figured they too
should get a piece of the space craze pie. Rather
than make an actual space-themed movie, they simply
cut together a bunch of episodes from their 70s
Mighty Mouse series, and released it to theaters.
If you look closely at the title card, you will
see they didn't even bother to update the copyright
year. With the strange deja vu experienced by any
Mighty Mouse fan who went to see it, this obviously
flopped at the box office, but has since gone on
to enjoy somewhat of a campy cult classic status.
There are rumors of an upcoming CGI movie next
year. How ever that turns out, it's bound to be
more entertaining than the similarly upcoming
Marmaduke CGI movie. Until then, enjoy the only
Mighty Mouse sorta feature film ever made!
WHO WE ARE
Since 2003 we have been dedicated to preserving
the neglected titles of an entertainment era long
gone. A time of classic kids flicks, painstaking
hand-drawn animation and countless cheesy low-
budget horrors. A time when pop had a King, and
rock had a Queen. A time when special FX wizards
ruled, and CGI was just one of their many tools.
Driven by nostalgia and memories of better
days, we seek to relive those times, and share
those memories. While our belief is that the
80s represent the very pinnacle of pop culture,
we will not limit ourselves to one decade, or
any single genre. We will not ignore the movies
considered insignificant or even embarrassing by
the studios. We will not disregard a timepiece
just because it is dated.
Whereas most groups stick to digital sources,
there are still thousands of rare and out of
print titles, many of which have no planned
digital release. We've made it our mission to
dig these out, clean them up using the best
hardware and techniques available to us, and
share them with the world. Be it VHS, Laserdisc
or more exotic formats, we're here to bring you
the best (and worst!) of decades past. So sit
back and enjoy as we uncover and pay tribute
to an age of cinema we will never get back.
We are FLAiR.
