Chronicling a day in the life of Quick Stop clerk Dante Hicks, CLERKS
captures the hilarity of the humdrum even as it raises slackerdom to
existential proportions. From behind his counter, Dante desperately
tries to exert some power over the crazy customers, his own love life,
and his incorrigible friend and fellow clerk Randal--the type who sees
nothing wrong in closing the video shop he works in to go rent movies
from a better store.
This contains the original 12 minute longer version that was shopped
at Sundance. It was mastered from VHS tape and looks like crap. It's
Disc 2 of the Clerks 10th Anniversary Edition, and also contains the
Commentary track as a second audio track, featuring most of the
principals.

P R O P E R R E A S O N
The FRAGMENT ripper kept it at 29.97fps and just deinterlaced, rather
than IVTCing down to the original framerate of 23.976fps. Samples of
the same scene from both releases are included.
N O T E S
Only if shot with 30fps video cameras should it just be deinterlaced.
Clerks was shot with 24fps 16 mm cameras. However, rather than being
telecined to 30fps, this "First Cut" was field blended up to 30fps. It
has to first be unblended before being IVTC'd.
