aus Brooklyn beherrscht den Untergrund von L.A. Er zieht seine Gewinne aus Drogen-
und Waffenschmuggel sowie Prostitution und bem ht sich auch um das lukrative Wettgesch ft
und den Nutzen, den er daraus ziehen kann. Dabei kennt er kein Erbarmen und geht
unglaublich r cksichtslos und brutal vor. Gesch tzt durch korrupte Polizisten und
Politiker, die auf seiner Gehaltsliste stehen, hat er scheinbar nichts zu bef rchten.
Lediglich eine kleine Geheimgruppe von Polizisten-Außenseitern, angef hrt von Sgt.
John O'Mara (Josh Brolin) und Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), l sst sich nicht
einsch chtern und versucht, dem Gangsterboss Paroli zu bieten. Besonders Jerry hat
eine offene Rechnung mit Cohen zu begleichen, da beide um die Gunst der sch nen
Jean (Emma Stone) buhlen.
