From days of long ago, from uncharted regions of the universe, comes a legend,
the Legend of Voltron, Defender of the Universe, a mighty robot, loved by
good, feared by evil. As Voltron's legend grew, peace settled across the
galaxy. On planet Earth, a Galaxy Alliance was formed. Together with the good
planets of the solar system, they maintained peace throughout the universe,
until a new horrible menace threatened the galaxy. Voltron was needed once
more. This is the story of the super force of space explorers. Specially
trained and sent by the Alliance to bring back Voltron, Defender of the
Universe.

Yes, the episode numbers of this series are pretty fucked up, and this is
partly our fault as past releases by us and others were based on the user-
supplied episode information found on sites like tvrage et al. However, we
have discovered that this commonly referred to episode listing is incorrect,
and the proof can be found in some of the featurettes and interviews on
Volume 6 of the Voltron DVDs. Volumes 1 through 5 of Voltron were all the
earlier Lion Voltron, a total of 72 episodes, 52 of which were recut from the
original anime series Beast King GoLion and aired between 1983 and 1984 as a
first series. Their success led to 20 more original Lion Voltron episodes
being developed and aired as a second series. Only after this initial 72
episode run, was the first Vehicle Voltron episode aired in November of 1984.
Volume 7, from whence these episodes come, consists of the second 18 episodes
of the Vehicle Voltron run of the show which was effectively the third series.
Rather than continue confusion with the past dvdrips done by us and others,
we titled these based on the OFFICIAL production numbers provided by WEP
which are independent of season numbering. This is the first time any of these
episodes have been released on DVD so you needn't worry about them being
dupes.
