PLOT
One of Australia's most popular primetime television programmes,
the award-winning A Country Practice is a drama series about the
residents of the small country town of Wandin Valley, New South
Wales. This warm series focuses on the town's medical clinic,
hospital, veterinary practice and pub.
Enjoy your favourite memories with Dr Terence Elliott (Shane
Porteous), his junior partner Dr Simon Bowen (Grant Dodwell), the
doctors' receptionist Shirley Dean (Lorrae Desmond) and her
daughter Vicky (Penny Cook), a local vet. And who can forget
Molly (Anne Tenney) and her husband Brendan (Shane Withington),
Bob Hatfield (Gordon Piper), Esme Watson (Joyce Jacobs), Matron
Marta Kurtez (Helen Scott) and Sgt Frank Gilroy (Brian Wenzel).
EPISODE SUMMARY
3x25 Hair of the Dog Part 1
Molly sits down with her animals to prepare them for their
impending move. The death of one of the hospital's elderly
residents requires Frank to look for a new home for her dog.
After failing to interest Brendan, he gives the dog to Vicky to
look after for a few days, but the dog soon finds its way back to
the hospital. Tracy Power, a young girl struggling in school and
faced with the additional pressures associated with being the
child of a teacher, turns to alcohol for relief. Terence and
Simon pressure Councillor Muldoon to hire a new Matron but
succeed only in firing up Shirley who demands to known why
Muldoon has revoked the council's tender for the hospital's new
geriatric wing. Muldoon soon finds himself in hospital with
peritonitis after collapsing in the clinic. A moving party is
held at the Jones' farm, the event is marked by a short speech
from Frank and a disturbing drunken display by young Tracy Power.
