PLOT
One of Australia's most popular primetime television programmes,
the award-winning A Country Practice is a drama series about the
residents of the small country town of Wandin Valley, New South
Wales. This warm series focuses on the town's medical clinic,
hospital, veterinary practice and pub.
Enjoy your favourite memories with Dr Terence Elliott (Shane
Porteous), his junior partner Dr Simon Bowen (Grant Dodwell), the
doctors' receptionist Shirley Dean (Lorrae Desmond) and her
daughter Vicky (Penny Cook), a local vet. And who can forget
Molly (Anne Tenney) and her husband Brendan (Shane Withington),
Bob Hatfield (Gordon Piper), Esme Watson (Joyce Jacobs), Matron
Marta Kurtez (Helen Scott) and Sgt Frank Gilroy (Brian Wenzel).
EPISODE SUMMARY
3x48 Bush Lore Part 2
While in hospital, Gus Patterson admits to Terence that his
family's real name is Lawson (they prefer Banjo's writing to that
of Henry). Dave Patterson becomes pinned under his car while
making repairs but due to the quick thinking of his children, he
is soon rescued and brought to hospital. Vicky informs Simon that
Confucius, his escaped Chinese chook, is really a goose. Simon
diagnoses Gus Patterson as having liver flukes, no doubt acquired
while his family were living off the land. Shirley mistakenly
sends her letter to a cryonics company to the shire council and
before long a confused Muldoon is at the clinic trying to sell
her an esky perhaps the family size? Simon wins a raffle, first
prize for which is a dinner of Cookie's "Goose a la Chinese," or
as Simon previously knew him, Confucius. Molly and Frank propose
to Dave that he stay in Wandin Valley, his kids would ensure that
Wandin Valley Primary would not lose another teacher while he
could find work in the building of the new library and hospital
wing. Simon's late entry of Narelle the "Chookatoo" wins him the
flight distance competition in the Chook Olympics but his by-the
-foot sponsorship proves costly when the bird takes to the sky.
