PLOT
It's a education in comedy!
John Alderton (Upstairs Downstairs) is Bernard Hedges, the
optimistic young teacher assigned to teach the uncontrollable
students in class 5C at Fenn Street Secondary school. Although
his fellow teachers have lost all hope in them, Bernard sees
much potential and combats the full might of these unruly
students in this Award-winning comedy series.
EPISODE SUMMARY
Season 1, Episode 5: Barbarian Librarians
Bernard Hedges' touching faith in the virtues of 5C is often
misplaced. The worst seems to have happened when he entrusts
them with the library key in order to look after the library,
out of school hours. First there is a complaint about 5C's
rowdiness from the women's evening class and then the library
is found in a state of shambles on the morning of the
inspection by the school governers.
