The Holy Land of Biblical times has vanished,
swallowed up by the trappings of human settlement. Gone
are the lions, cheetahs, bears, and crocodiles described
in the scriptures. Leopards, hyenas, jackals, and wolves
are on their way out, too, and life-giving water is
running dangerously low. In response to the plight of
the Holy Land\'s environment, several conservation
groups are making valiant attempts to recreate or
preserve the natural world of the Bible. For nearly 30
years, the Nature Reserves Authority of Israel has been
reintroducing \"biblical animals\" to the area that was
once their native habitat. The Jerusalem Biblical Zoo is
committed to maintaining and preserving animals from the
biblical period in their natural environment. This
fascinating film documents the efforts of dedicated
individuals who make it their mission to restore the
natural integrity of an historical environment.
