PLOT

Featuring the  formidable comedic  talents of  John Clarke  (Fred
Dagg,  Death  In  Brunswick), Gina  Riley,  Bryan  Dawe and  Ross
Stevenson, this hit ABC comedy  series is a deadpan, surreal  and
highly satirical look at  bureacrats in the throws  of organising
the extravaganza that will be the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

A classic parody of Australian bureaucratic culture, our bungling
committee - with comic legend John  Clarke at the helm - have  to
deal with a 100 metres running track that is several metres short
of the mark; over zealous sponsorship opportunities from  tobacco
companies; and a sex-change athlete - do they run in the men's or
women's events?

John Clarke brillantly  plays the prickly  team leader, prone  to
bone-dry quips, dirty tricfks and scathing remarks; Gina Riley is
the acerbic head of Games PR; while Bryan Dawe plays the  quietly
flustered money man with his eyes on the bottom line.

EPISODE SUMMARY

1x05: Past Sports Stars and Gender

Gina monitors construction of the Olympic stadium while answering
calls  on  a special  Olympic  Hotline set  up  for international
callers     a  task  complicated  by  it  only  operating  during
Australian business  hours. John  and Bryan  argue as  to whether
modern day  athletes are  superior to  those of  the past.  Bryan
meets  with  the Secretary  to  the Minister  to  discuss seating
arrangements for a Regional Delegates meeting. The eligibility of
a competitor who has had a sex change is argued.
